The Throw-In Hurling & Football Championship Podcasts

The Throw-In, the Irish Independent’s popular GAA podcast, is now being split into two separate shows with separate hurling and football episodes each week being produced by LastCast Media.

With so many talking points around the games, The Throw-In Hurling and The Throw-In Football shows will give the presenters and contributors more time each week to delve into and dissect the issues that GAA fans are talking about.

The Throw-In Hurling show is presented by Michael Verney with Kilkenny legend, Eddie Brennan, and Waterford legend, John Mullane, joining Michael each week to give their thoughts and provide plenty of frank and honest opinions.

The Throw-In Football show is presented by Will Slattery and he’s joined by Monaghan legend, Dick Clerkin, and GAA writers from the Irish Independent, including Donnchadh Boyle, Colm Keys, Conor McKeon and Frank Roche.

Each show is released on Monday lunchtime and you can listen and follow on Apple, Spotify, or wherever you get your podcasts.

Philly McMahon's Friday Throw-In Launches

LastCast Media is producing Independent.ie’s latest sports podcast which becomes part of the existing GAA show, The Throw-In.

Philly McMahon, Dublin’s teak tough defender who was an inter-county stalwart for fourteen years, has started his own podcast called ‘Philly’s Friday Throw-In’.

Presented by Sinéad Kissane, every Friday Philly will be giving his original and interesting take on the Football Championship and with his honest views on players, counties, coaches and mindset, it’s set to be another hugely popular GAA podcast.

Allianz Returns for Sponsorship of the Throw-In podcast for the GAA Leagues

Allianz, the title sponsors of the GAA’s hurling and football leagues, has returned for another year of sponsorship of the Throw-In, INM’s flagship GAA podcast, produced by LastCast Media.

Over the coming weeks in the Allianz Leagues, presenters Will Slattery and Michael Verney, will be joined by some of the best pundits and journalists in the game from Ciaran Whelan and Dick Clerkin to John Mullane and Vincent Hogan.

The Throw-In finishes after another hugely success campaign

The GAA Championship season is over for another year and with it the Throw-In wraps for another series of insightful debate and opinions on the GAA season.

Sponsored by Bord Gáis Energy, the Throw-In is a regular in the Apple Podcasts charts and the show was host to contributors from Dick Clerkin, Ciaran Whelan, David Brady and Brid Stack to Cora Staunton, John Mullane and Brendan Cummins.

Its most popular show of the summer was the exclusive Joe Canning interview ahead of the All-Ireland hurling final where Joe talked openly about his retirement from the game and previewed where the Limerick v Cork final would be won or lost.
